A couple days ago David Silverman wrote a blog post titles 10 business Words to Ban. It was a great article where he talked about common cliches that are or have been used way to much.

I wanted to add another one to the list.

I wish business schools and books would stop using the phrase “Think out side the Box”.

When I was in college 5 years ago this was constantly used. Everybody was in a class to learn how to “Think out side the Box”.

Even today we get resumes from college students wanting to be interns, as soon as I read that phrase in their cover letter I almost want to throw up. I can’t believe this word is still being used.
